This has to do with the Lewis acids/base and the Bronstead Lowry theory. That the first question has Why is HI a stronger acid than HF? Does it have to do with electronegativity or the size , but not 100%, see the acetic acids.) Use the electronegativity values when discussing electronegativity

Answers:It depends upon concentrations of both acids.... Generally a diluted stronger acid is stronger as it is strong electrolyte too.... but for that its concentration should be above 10^(-4)

HCOOH (the acid you referred to in the question) is methanoic acid, an organic acid All organic acids (carboxylic acids) are weak acids All the mineral acids (HNO3, H2SO4, HCl) are strong acids Other strong acids would include all the acid halides excepting hydrofluoric acid (HF - which only ionizes partially because of the strength of the bond). Therefore HI, HBr, etc. are all strong acids (stronger than HCl) because the ions dissociate readily in water
